A practical weekly plan that pairs frequency, worksheets, and review.
Passing JLPT kanji sections is less about cramming every rare reading and more about consistent exposure.
**N5–N4:** Prioritise school grades 1–2 and the KanjiStroke N5/N4 worksheet packs. Aim for 8–12 new characters a day with stroke practice, then reuse them in short words (日本, 学生, 食べる).
**N3:** Shift from isolated kanji to compounds. Use the word pages and download printable sheets for vocabulary you actually meet in graded readers.
**N2–N1:** Focus on lookalike discrimination and on/kun switching inside compounds. The compare hub (買/売, 間/問, 鳥/烏) is built for this. Add weekly timed reviews: paste a news paragraph into the JLPT level checker to see which band still dominates your blind spots.
A sustainable week: 5 weekdays of new characters + strokes, one day of lookalike drills, one day of mixed reading with furigana turned off. Download the level ZIP once, keep PDFs offline, and rotate printouts so you are not always writing the same ten characters.
